Introducing Mitsubishi Prototype X

Mitsubishi has revealed the Prototype X, a concept version of the 2008 Lancer Evolution X. The car was first previewed with the Concept X in 2005, and is now based on the production-ready 2008 Lancer sedan.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine with over 300 horsepower. A choice of a 5-speed manual or sequential-manual gearbox will be offered. Power will make it to the ground via a S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system, featuring active steering and electronic yaw control. For more information, click on this link!

Alternative Fuel Vehicle

Alternative Fuel Vehicles refers to a vehicle that runs on a fuel other than traditional gasoline diesel. That is, any method of powering an engine that does not involve petroleum.

What does that mean to you? Well, if you're planning on purchasing a car you should be aware that in the United States there are several federal incentives and tax rebates available depending upon the kind of alternative fuel or vehicle you choose. Also, depending upon the state in which you reside, there are additional rebates and incentives available. You can perform a search in the Google Search field (above) on the following technology types:

Alcohol - ethanol and methanol.

Compressed natural gas (CNG) - natural gas under high pressure.

Electricity - stored in batteries.

Hydrogen - a very special type of gas.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) - natural gas that is very, very cold.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) (also called propane) - hydrocarbon gases under low pressure.

Liquids made from coal - gasoline and diesel fuel that doesn't come from petroleum.

Biodiesel - a lot like diesel fuel, but made from plant oil or animal fat.

These days, car buyers have many choices to select from. Yet how do you know what vehicle is right for you, and perhaps your family? I know its tough, and although this doesn't eliminate one's fear or the daunting task of finding a car that is right for your pocketbook, you can take stock in knowing that there is a plethora of information right at your finger tips.

To jump start your search I have inserted, on this page, a list of car models that you can peruse. Personally, I find that when I want to purchase a big ticket item I first review the manufacturers website for detailed information regarding: specs, price, and so on. Next, I proceed to the Consumer Reports website for expert advice and consumer reviews. If my finances are tight, I'll shop around for the best deal I can find. If any money is left over, I splurge!

If you own a car or you're planning on purchasing one, I recommend accessorizing with such goodies as an XM Radio and or mobile solutions, because these gadgets help to make life a little more pleasurable and productive during those long commutes.

CAUTION: The dealerships wants your money - all of it! So look for new car rebates and incentives. If you're still feeling skittish about taking the plunge, you can obtain additional tips from Confessions of a Car Salesmen. His 10 Steps to Buying a New Car is invaluable.
